Shopping Rules
When a) you have lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to throw around
OR b) you follow Qing Ying's Shopping Rules.

Ok, you don't really have to. But here are some Shopping Rules I'm going to enforce upon myself from now on.

1. Never buy anything when it's not on sale unless a) I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY like it, or b) it costs less than $20, or c) it's a special occasion, eg. Christmas, or d) it's a necessity. And not in the "I really need to have that cute skirt" way.

I mean what is the point when there are always, always going to be nice and pretty clothes? Trends always come and go. Plus, the quality of clothes nowadays is going downhill. Trust me, I've bought enough pieces that cost too much for the poor quality (even from brands like U2!).

2. Never buy anything that is unsatisfactory in any way, like if it doesn't fit well. Unless it is $15 and below.

3. Forget about membership cards, just wait for the sale!!

I have to confess that I have a card for, of all places, This Fashion. Yes there are a lot of dodgy clothes in there and the quality isn't very good but they have some unexpectedly nice pieces that aren't that badly made. AND they are cheap. Though I'm finding that the prices are going up in there as well.

I really figured out all this when I bought a skirt and a top for just $25 today. Together with the $9 (or was it $8??) skirt I got during the GSS from FCUK (Yes! From FCUK, which I hardly ever step into because I assume correctly that I won't be buying anything, unless my friend wants to go in. Also, I have a problem with the name -- f**k is f**k whichever way you rearrange the letters, ok? Sorry, long bracket, very ungrammatical =P), I've realised that I really shouldn't be buying anything when it's not on sale, not when I can get nice stuff for half the original price or more. The $10 top used to cost $23, and the $15 skirt used to cost $33!! As for the FCUK one, I can only imagine. 8/9 bucks is damn cheap for a skirt nowadays, even when it's not branded.

I feel such a great sense of satisfaction having bagged these great bargains. Hey, guilt-free shopping! Of course, small numbers can add up to big amounts too (10x10 = 100!!) so I better watch my expenditure.
