| omu rice, "ah-nee-lood" and birthdays |
Omu rice
Was eating at Ajitei just now, and this elderly angmoh couple sat down at the table beside us. They perused the menu for a long while, and I wondered if they perhaps did not know what to order. After a while, the man (who sounded British) asked what we were having, and we pointed it out to him on the menu. It was this omu rice set, with curry, omelette rice and fried chicken cutlet. He then said he had been here for the second time already and that he saw it yesterday but didn't know what it was called. After that we didn't speak again, and it was kind of awkward because everytime they served us something he looked at our table...haha maybe he was thinking of ordering it too. The tables were very close together too and that made it more weird!

On the train, I remembered Sheena telling me that her grandma pronounced Aljunied as Ahneelood, which sent us into giggling fits. Ahneelood!!!
Birthdays
I did a very silly thing...my mom's birthday was not on 1 June as I said, but on 7 June! (Now I will never forget it because of this booboo) Nevertheless, I decided to buy her a mango birthday cake as a surprise. :D I didn't get Sheena's or Wentworth Miller's birthdays wrong though. xP Dang, no perfect 1-2-3 combo though. Whatever lah. Happy birthday (again) Sheena!!! LOL. And happy (belated) birthday Mr Miller. I can't wait for Prison Break 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
