Yes I know it's a black top; I'll cam-whore again when I wear a different colour tomorrow :P
Well, I did it.
Cut my hair short!
Really really really love my new hairstyle.
Love the swishing and bouncing action whenever I run/skip somewhere... Ok only in my house. Don't ask me why I run and skip in my house. I do a lot of other things I don't want you to know about in my house xP
Love the lightness of my hair, the way it sweeps across the back of my neck when I move my head. Love the Change! Yay! No more having to adjust my hair whenever I 'put on' my shoulder bag (put on??) to prevent it from being trapped under the straps. No more having to adjust my hair on my pillow so that I won't pull it by accident when I turn in my bed. No more embarrassing and yucky moments when I accidentally dip my hair into my food. No more fumbling with my overly-long fringe!
I probably won't keep this haircut for long, though. My hair is naturally all kinds of curly, wavy, messy and frizzy. Keeping it at my current length (shoulder length) is not practical as it needs to be relatively straight for it to look nice... The only other way is to go long, so that the weight of the hair itself keeps it straight! Besides, I do like long hair. Yes, very traditional, haha.
But for now I lurrrrrrve my short hair! Boing Boing!
My hairstylist at Kimage Funan was very entertaining today (hence the title). He told me that he'd recently adopted a stray bitch pup, but that he didn't want to spay her because he wanted her to "have a life of her own" when she's outside the house. I was thinking, "How's a dog supposed to have a life of her own??? You mean you want her to find her own life partner...?" But maybe he is one of those people who really treat their pets like their children...which is really not up to me to judge, as long as he treats the little thing well. He even showed me a picture of the puppy on his handphone... and he was like half-naked in the picture. O.o
Anyways, the puppy is awfully cute. All babies are cute! (And then they have to go and grow up.)
He told me about how he used to be interested in Psychology and go to the library to borrow books (he likes to read) on the subject.
Then he told me that he couldn't live without music, and that if you ever put him on an island all he would want is a radio that operated by solar power.
When the song Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado came on the radio, he said he used to pronounce it as "promis-cous" until he asked a customer of his who is Thai but raised in New York. Actually now that I am recounting it, I realised that he was really detailed!
And the kicker: He told me he'd dubbed an ex-colleague Promiscuous Penis! What that is supposed to mean and how it came about, is really up to your fecund and dirty imaginations....muahahaha. But I was really amused. First time having a hairstylist talk so frankly about things like dogs menstruating and er, penis...
Anyway, he was very nice lah. Very patient as well, even though I was awfully indecisive at the beginning, about whether I wanted to straighten my hair or not. I liked that he didn't 'force' me into buying anything too... yeah, I can always say no but sometimes it is so annoying when the salesperson keeps throwing things at you. It's bad service!
Oh - poor Halima was with me most of the time...it ended up talking a very long time because of the hair straightening. She sat there and sat there and read Cleo and read her manga until she finished it...I was supposed to go with her to Peninsula Plaza after everything was over...but in the end she had to go home early cos' her mom wanted her to buy something!
Sometimes he talked to me when she was there, and when he went away I would tell her what he'd just told me. She said she'd thought that he was talking about my hair! Someone even gave her a bottle of Kimage bottled water (yes they actually have this kind of thing). A bottle of water for the longsuffering friend! Haha!
When she decided to take up his suggestion of going to Peninsula first, he said she could leave her bag there. But she wanted to take it along (donno why?) and he said, "Got gold inside?"
"Yeah," said my longsuffering friend.
"Good for you," said Edmund/Edmond.
(Of all names he has to have the name of my previous caregroup leader...haha)
I also saw this hairstylist who looked like your average kopitiam ah pek! Heard him asking his client, "Do you have a boyfriend now?"
There was also this old rocker dude with a huge curly sort of mohawk!
The Funan Kimage seems to have a lot more male stylists than female ones. It's usually the other way round in any hair salon. Is it because the majority of the consumers at Funan is male? But wouldn't they prefer female hairstylists then?
Actually I really cannot imagine one of them cutting a man's hair. And washing their hair and things like that. In fact, all the guys I saw having their hair washed were having it done by a lady! Ahah!
Getting a new hairstyle tends to make me do things I may regret later, such as:

Now you have seen a side of me you have never seen before. Don't I have nice curtains! |
Hilarious pics!! I like the 2nd one! U look 4 diff is the 4th one..
