And they're not here to stay, baby - uh uh.
So, yesterday was Valentine's Day. Thank God that I've never been alone at home on V Day. Personally, I think if you really care for people, you don't really have to wait for a special occasion to treat them special and give things to them. But I don't feel there's anything wrong with celebrating either! And nobody likes to be alone on special occasions when everyone is having fun right :)

My V Day present to myself - a manicure! Yes I did it all by myself - with stickers, of course! I know my cuticles are horrible but who cares lah! When I went to Giordano, this very nice, helpful and pretty salesgirl at the counter noticed them as I was keying in the Nets PIN. She asked if they were "something something or stick on". Haha I didn't hear what she asked but I knew they were stick on so I told her that. I haven't done up my nails like that in a long time. In fact, I'd even forgotten that I had these stickers! Where did I buy them, they're so nice.
We ate at Out of the Pan at Raffles City. Shared two crepes, a savoury one and sweet one.

Tiramisu crepe This is the tiramisu crepe; basically a slice of tiramisu wrapped in a crepe and with espresso ice cream on top. It was suuuuper nice!!! I actually said, "I'm in heaven," after tasting it, which is not something I say often. Hurhur.
Then we went to KBox and watched certain music videos a few times just for the eye candy. Heheh, no prizes for guessing who those were! We were kind of bored towards the end so we started choosing silly songs like The Thousand Legged Worm and ABC (yes, ABC)! I was laughing like crazy at the video for The Thousand Legged Worm because it was all footage of various birds and monkeys. Finally, we watched two movies back to back; Ghost Rider and Just Follow Law- both sneak previews. The former was extremely enjoyable. The only thing I couldn't get my head around was; if Nicholas Cage's and Eva Mendes' characters were supposed to be roughly the same age in the movie, why does she look soo much younger? I suppose in real life they are quite different in age too right. So why did they find these two actors in the first place? Ah, yes. What thought-provoking questions, eh? As for the latter movie - eh, let's just say you can save your money on better things. One of the best things about the day happened after I reached home, though - when I opened the present my date had given me. This was my reaction upon opening the box: "Ohmygod. Ohmygod! Oh my god. Oh. My. God." And then I started laughing to myself because I still couldn't quite believe it! It was the $115 (mint) green jacket I almost bought at GAP on Monday!!! Almost bought, because I thought it cost $29...thanks to the singlet they'd put inside it on the display rack. Might also have been a bit distracted by some delicious looking billboards... :P I was so happy then too because you know how the prices at GAP are. In fact, I was going to blog an entry titled "Almost bought a $115 jacket from GAP today" but never got round to it. I was really quite disappointed, too, because I really liked the jacket! Especially the colour! And I was like going, "Green jackeeetttt!!" at regular intervals after that. It was kind of embarrassing too, when we had to cancel the purchase at the counter...can you believe it? I didn't realise it until I was already at the counter! But at least we'd bought some other stuff so it wasn't as bad...
This pic is blurry but I like it!
Eh, please excuse the mess behind. Haven't done my spring cleaning yet. (Excuses excuses xP)

I like the inside of the hood :) And it's kind of kick to wear XS for once... xP
And...my dad bought a rose for my mom! Aww...it's the first time in so many years that he's done something like this I think. As a family, we're not big on gifting you see. I swear, it's the most beautiful rose I've ever seen in my life!
(Was experimenting with various light settings)

This blurry effect came about accidentally; my camera was lying in my cold, air-conditioned room, and when I took it out condensation formed on the surface of the lens! Mom asked me to put it into a vase... :) Alright...before I go, let me just say a big THANKS again to the person (same person who gave me the ring last year) who gave me the jacket!! :D :D You know I'm not the most verbally expressive person, but I really do appreciate the gift. Not just because it cost $115; I love your $15 gifts as well. It's the fact that you actually remembered what I wanted, even though I never hinted at it nor expected you to buy it for me.
I just want you to know that I really appreciate that! :) I love you! I'm really glad that I have you in my life. And I hope that when we are old and graying (but by no means frail and broken), our relationship will be the same, if not better, and we'll reminiscice about the silly things we did together. Oh and the card you gave me? I would say all the same back to you too! :D I give you all the good 'chi' also! Chi! Chi! Chi! Hehehe! Oh and CY...if you're reading this, I was the one who messaged you on V Day! Don't you have my new number?? |
