Sick =(
Updates on what I've been up to since I last blogged:

Last Wednesday: Last day of class for summer, and Roja's last class. She's going to stop teaching after this. We took pictures with her. What a pity, because I think she truely cares for our welfare, and that's rare, I think.

Thursday: Tried to do work in the morning and early afternoon at home. Emphasis on 'tried'! Then met up with Liz, Hannah and Sheena for Memoirs of a Geisha. The book's waaay better. The acting's quite solid, though, especially Gong Li and Zhang Ziyi's (though I can hardly be called a fan of Zhang Ziyi the Person). Didn't like the way they portrayed Nobu. They softened his hardness, made him desperate. While in the book Nobu is an extremely dignified, though broken, flawed, character. Overall the character development sucked. They also added a lot of cheesy lines and left out those that I felt were extremely poetic and meaningful.

Friday: Sent Liz off to Jakarta at the airport. = The next time we'll see her is next December...sigh. I'm missing Raji off in Ireland too. And pretty soon I might miss Xiao Mei in Australia and Sheena in Thailand...Anyway, we ate lunch at Popeye's and I bought 2 mashed potatoes (the mash from Popeye's is heavenly~!) for Cece and Luke, then went to school to meet them to do essay. Didn't get much done because we were listening to songs and talking and watching videos (*ahem*). I even accompanied Cece to have her eyebrows threaded halfway through! Dinner was artery-clogging, cellulite-forming KFC. We shared a family set - 8 pcs chicken, a box of popcorn chicken, a box of nuggets (which Cece didn't eat), and 2 mashed potatoes (which I didn't eat).

Saturday: Met Raymond for lunch. But before that he wanted to visit the hello! shop at Citylink, and made video calls from inside the shop. They had this phone that you could try. He made me stand in front of the camera while he stood out of view and made funny noises to his friends in a faux high-pitched voice! How silly can you get! Well if it wasn't a public place I'd have played along more and made funny faces to his friends but I was too paiseh to do it.

We ate at Marche, and they'd only just started cooking when we ordered. I got my rosti (with cheese sausage) hand-delivered to my table! And I didn't even ask for it. What nice service. It's nice to be a lady sometimes. =) Then off to Millenia Walk to catch Bizhu who was going to make green tea (with her sado club) for this Geisha-related promotion event. I was the impromptu photographer (once in Photographic Society, always in Photographic Society!).

Then off to church for worship prac. Bro Ed called me on the way to get superglue for him because the sole on the heel of his shoe fell out! The practice was a real big mess but the actual service went ok I guess. Then after service we had this meeting with Pastor. Remember that post in which I said there were going to be changes in church? Well, now that it's been finalised I can talk about it! There's going to be a new carecell for youths aged 18-25! It's going to be called Wired Up, and I'm going to be a part of it, along with Sheena, Hannah, Eugene, Huini, Alvin, Tommy and Cheng Yao. I'm not sure if Jessie is going to join us because I think she wants to stay with the original Cross Over youths.

Ok, if this sounds like Greek to you, let me give a brief explanation: I used to be in this carecell for youths called Cross Over Generation (COG) but some of us joined the adult carecells when we turned 20. Which didn't work out very well after all, as we discovered this year. Pastor said that he'd actually had this idea for some time and was just waiting for us to come to him. And he took it as a sign from God to go ahead with it when we eventually did. Which was reassuring to me, honestly, because I've been wondering if this is really what He wants for us. Bro Ed is going to be our new leader. I actually suspected it a few days ago already. Heehee. I like it! I like this new arrangement.

Last night me and Sheena shared zhui kuay and carrot cake for dinner. Mistake. I guess this is what happens when you have oily, heaty, heart attack-inducing, artery-clogging, health freak-killing food for 2 days in a row: sore throat in addition to the cough I'd already been having for 2 weeks! Woke up this morning feeling very sick. My head still feels like a ball of lead but at least my skin has stopped feeling sore and raw everywhere. So I skipped Singled Out at East Coast...Though this could also have been because that time of the month is coming. I even had what can only be termed a 'hormonal explosion' last night, which lasted, thankfully, only about half an hour.

Did some work (yay!) and watched Gilmore Girls just now. I think Alexis Bledel is sooo pretty. Her life seems such a fairytale, though: Not only is she extremely cute and slim, she has an awesome relationship with her mom, good friends, great grades, and the sweetest boyfriends. What we all wouldn't do to have a life like that, right? It's not like she doesn't have rough patches but somehow things always work out in the end for Rory and Lorelai Gilmore. Still, they're so likeable you can't help but like them! And yes, this show is definitely chick TV. Lol. I think the perfect PMS cure would be: Gilmore Girls, lots of ice cream and tissue. With or without some girlie company. I haven't had to resort to this yet, thank God, and I'm confident I'll never have to - cos' God's my ultimate cure for everything!

What a busy week it's been! And I have this essay to hand up on Wednesday. So it's back to work now I guess...boo.
