tour buses and drivers
The first day found us in a rather dirty bus with the words Autonoleggio printed on the side. I don’t know what it’s supposed to mean, most probably the name of the company who provides these buses, but found it rather amusing. Auto-no-leg-gio. No leg, no need to use leg, I drive you. Haha. Was relieved when our guide (who looks like William Hung’s much better looking brother/cousin – yes it’s possible to resemble William Hung and be rather attractive!) said we’d be changing to another bus which would go with us all the way. I don’t remember this driver at all, in fact was a little apprehensive of him too, having been regaled by tales of weirdo drivers by our guide.

The next day I realised during lunch that that dignified looking gentleman in suit and tie sitting with our guide was our new driver. Was immediately impressed that he dressed so well for a job like this. He could pass off as a businessman I think! He’s balding too but he’s one of those old but handsome types, you know. Haha. He didn’t go with us all the way in the end, cos’ something on the dashboard got spoilt in Milan so we had to change buses, much to our chagrin since the new bus was smaller and had hard uncomfortable seats, some of which were quite dusty. On our second last day, going down from Jungfraujoch (that’s what they called it there—in my itinerary they refer to it as the Jungfrau Mountains) in a train, my parents were talking to our guide who told us that in his conversation with our new driver (Mark) he’d learnt that this fellow actually was divorced and now has a second wife. Then my father asked if that was the case with our previous one (Vincent), to which he said maybe, since he’d worked with Vincent before and the last time he saw his wife she looked different! Lol. His wife is very pretty though, and stylish; she had this cool short haircut. They look quite well-off actually. Wages are high over there.

Mark wasn't as well-dressed as Vincent. Haha.
