Cheap Thrills Galore
I'm still earthbound! Posted that message last night, or rather this morning, thinking I might not have time to come online again...but as it is I do! So yep, this post is about cheap thrills...namely,
The Chai Fan Stall Guy
You know, cute food stallholders are rare. Usually you get the uncles and aunties and what have you. This stall has 3 young men who cannot be older than 35. There's this very smiley sunny type, a skinny one who is just average, and then there's Mr. Intense Eyes. I've mentioned him before in the past here, but not properly. Lol. I don't go there just to oogle you know. Besides, a nice girl like me doesn't oogle guys. At least not obviously. I'm very discreet! Having been trained for 2 years in JC...oh man I sound like some...I donno what. Boy-crazy girl. Blah. Oh well, I am being human! And as far as I'm concerned, nobody can be better looking than moi Jesus. My Lover Ultima! Heheh! Second would be the guy I'm gonna marry!! :D
So anyway, I go to this stall quite often (it was my mom who recommended it to me, actually) because the food is good, and well, they are friendly. It's usually Mr. Intense Eyes who'll talk to me, and they definitely know me by face now. So yesterday, I went there to buy lunch and as he collected my money he asked me, "No school today? Or graduated already?" (in chinese) and I said I've graduated from JC and am waiting for results. At one point the smiley one said something to him while smiling away and when he heard it Mr. Intense Eyes smiled too. I wonder what. Anyhoo after that he said Happy New Year to me and I did the same. Oh, and he said, "I haven't seen you for a long time." Lol that somehow sounds creepy and perverted in English...ya cheap cheep cheep thrill what.
and
Malaysian Customer of My Mom's
At my mom's you get to see a lot of types of people. There are some really beautiful people that walk in. I particularly remember this woman with a Cleopatra hairstyle and gosh, she looks like a doll! Her husband is quite ordinary lah. Kate Reyes (the ex-DJ; I can't quite remember how to spell her name) and Cassandra See comes to my mom's shop too. And this ex-local actress whose name I don't know. But no big deal lah, so what right? They're still people. Tom Cruise is human. Nicole Kidman is human. And Jude Law, as much as he has what magazines would call "Greek god" features, is no god but human too. There is only one God for me. And hey, He loves them all! Only a matter of whether they acknowledge it or not. Tom Cruise apparently doesn't cos' he is in a cult. :( That's why I won't watch his movies. Basically I lost all respect for him after he divorced his wife and *then* heard that he is in a cult. Jude Law is also divorced now. Gee, so disappointing lor. Which comes once again to the point that only God doesn't ever disappoint.
I digress. So then there's this cute customer of my mom's who comes from Malaysia. Looks 20+, boyish. He's always smiling at me. Not overtly, just enough to be flattering. =P In this shy manner. And just now my mom told me that once when he came, he totally forgot to buy the things his boss asked him to. So the boss called and told my mom to please remind him to buy this thing. Then my mom said that he must have been too flustered when he saw beauties (mei nu) and forgot what he had to do. Lol. Like I said, cheeep thrill!
So that's as far as my cheap thrills go. If anything I have God to thank for regaining my self-esteem. Before He found me, my self-esteem was so low I couldn't imagine anybody finding me attractive! So silly, right? I believe that everyone is good looking in their own ways. Often it's a matter of character for me. Like a person will become more and more attractive to me as I get to know them better (provided they don't turn out to be horrid people). Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it really is, as cliched as it sounds. =) |
