Ze Queest for Ze Goot Meed-Ahfternooon Breekfahst |
Come on, read that out loud! Haha...ok I'm just trying to say (or rather type) "The Quest for the Good Mid-Afternoon Breakfast" in a faux German accent. For some reason I keep typing "Questo" instead of "Quest". Strange...my right hand is Italian? (Ok more crapping...it's 3AM people)
Yes dear readers, if memory serves you well, a couple of days ago I had breakfast at Coffeebean with Shujuan at 3:30PM. Oops we did it again, this time at New York New York (at Citylink). However, we were once again disappointed with the food and concluded that we can cook better breakfasts than them!
I suppose this quest will be put on hold for a while since we don't know any other places which serve breakfast all day and we're too lazy to climb out of bed in the morning (yes horrible sleeping schedules I know xP).
Anyhow, had my Comms paper today, which was much easier than expected. Invigilators were rather funny especially the old man (I really don't know what else to call him). He was clearly the one in charge overall, but rather blur. There were three different units in the same room today, and TOM (The Old Man) was saying that unsure if the people sitting in my area were taking a closed or open book exam. He said something like, "Everyone is taking a closed-book exam except this area is it?" while pointing towards us. Of course this elicited several smartass answers like, "Oh, I left my book outside!" and much laughter from the rest of us. Funny things always happen in Comms exams.
After the absolutely unnecessary ten minute reading time, TOM said, "Ok you may begin your ten minute reading time now," which made everyone blur for a while until we realised his mistake. And TOM kept saying, "Sorry, old liao, old liao."
During the exam someone's phone kept vibrating and no one came forward when they asked whose bag it was. Apparently they then left the bag outside in the end. When it happened again they were looking around and lifting up bags to check if the vibration came from there, and they actually picked up mine! Of course it wasn't because I'd already switched off my phone. I'm a good girl. :D
Halfway through the paper one of the invigilators even came and asked if she could borrow my liquid paper, which was kind of interesting.
Oh, the cabbie was very nice to me on the way to the exam venue too. He couldn't find Market Street and said he would cap the fare at $16. When we reached it was $17.10 ($18.10?) I think!
Anyway, after the disappointing breakfast we went to Vivo City and walked for two hours. That's how big the place is, and we didn't even go into most of the shops. We just walked. I think the outdoor area is beautiful though, in a very resort-y sort of way. Love the view and the very tall and skinny snowman sculpture. I'm going there on Sunday again, will take pics.
We did find out something today, though: the hot chocolate at Starbucks is really really nice. :) |
