| Luke's Birthday |
This is the card I made for Luke. I like it a lot!
We gave Luke his birthday surprise today. He was supposed to meet up with Cece for lunch, but, unbeknownst to him, we were all waiting at Fish & Co. for him: me, Shujuan, Joyce, Michael.
He was more than an hour late, so we ordered first before we got kicked out. The food arrived before he did, so we started eating first, but halfway through we all suddenly felt very full, so we stopped eating. Also to save him 'face'. Haha.
Shujuan made this chocolate cheesecake, the non-bake kind. I thought it was very nice even though it didn't turn out the way it was supposed to!
We had a few surprises for him: first our appearance, then the cake (which we'd asked the staff to keep in their freezer), then the relightable candles, and lastly the Fish & Co. surprise. The funny thing was that the staff unknowingly asked Luke himself if it was alright to bring out the cake. As for the Fish & Co. surprise...well, if you don't know, they actually make the birthday boy/girl stand on a chair holding a sparkler (basically looking idiotic) while they do this rap. Hahaha. By the time we asked them to do it, the place was very empty (lunchtime crowd gone) and they didn't even make him stand on a chair. So if you wanna saboh your friends, bring them there next time. =P
Michael and I ended up wearing pink while everyone else was in black. Joyce was wearing white, but she had her black shawl wrapped around her most of the time anyway. They were joking that it looked like couple's wear. At one point he even said (looking at our matching colours): "Esther, we need to talk about the future." So lame can.
All in all, we spent close to 8 hours at Suntec today! At least me, Cece, Shujuan and Joyce did, Michael had to go off earlier. |
